When a beam of uniform cross-section is clamped horizontally at one end and is bent at the other end by application of a load, the system is called a Cantilever. By measuring the amount of deflection under a known load, the Young's modulus of the material can be calculated. The cantilever beam consists of a steel strip of dimension 100 x 18 x 0.3 cm (L x W x T) powder coated with line markings at every 5 cm along its length . The steal strip is provided with a hook at one end for application of load. Supplied with suitable G-clamp for horizontal mounting. Supplied without scale and slotted weights.
