The experiment is used to display that the effect of gravitational force is more on an object moving down a curved surface than the one on a straight inclined surface. It is used to study elastic collision, momentum, projectile motion and potential and kinetic energies. Ramp comprises of metal assembly consisting of inclined straight ramp and a cycloid ramp with a full-length groove and two steel balls of the same mass.
